Interview with Marti of Zombie Jester Creations

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Marti: I’m a 22 year old lady, and lifelong geek. When I’m not making bows I spend my time watching horror movies, listening to vinyl records, playing video games, reading comic books, and surfing the net.
What is Zombie Jester Creations origin story?
Marti: I’ve identified myself as The Zombie Jester for years. The term combines my love for all things colorful, joyful, and lively. As well as gory, macabre, and dark. It’s the perfect fit for my personality, and a natural choice for my business.
Which have been some of your favorite pieces to make?
Marti: Any custom pieces are always a blast since they present a challenge. I also love incorporating the cameo charms, since I design them each myself. I enjoy the digital creativity on top of the normal design process.
Do you do custom orders?
Marti: Always! Whether it’s for a costume, event, or a gift for someone special. I love helping fellow geeks represent their favorite obsession, in a unique style all their own.
I know you write for geeklisted.com, can you tell us a little about that?
Marti: Geeklisted is a web directory of awesome websites, that makes it easy to look up and discover geeky entertainment. As well as gain exposure for your own projects.
Any plans for future bows?
Marti: I try to stay up to date with geeky happenings such as movie and video game releases, conventions, holidays, etc. In honor of The Dark Knight Rises, July is Batman month!
If you were on a deserted island what video game, comic/book, movie, TV show would you bring?
Marti: I’d have to bring some form of The Sims (most likely Medieval), The Killing Joke, Battle Royale, and The Guild.

These bows are extremely cute! My fictional fashion icon will have to be Veronica Lodge from the Archie comics! I love all the clothes she wore at school. I am following Zombie Jester on Etsy (GetaUkami), on Twitter (@GetaUkami), and on Facebook (Sam Sain).

When I was younger, I thought Cher from Clueless had the best clothes and sense of style

Don’t really have a fashion icon per-say since I just wear Jeans and a t-shirt. But the Johnny Depp Pirate look has always been cool, hansomkind of vibe to it , all the Disney princesses dresses are just pretty. To just get dolled up sometimes would be nice, I love some of the dresses that the women characters of the Tim Burton films wear,

Love the interview as well! Great to see the incites of Marti’s bows and what she likes to do. Her bows are amazing and would love to get more. Such awesome ideas! Thanks again! :)

I used to look up to Veronica from the Archie comics as a fashion icon. Now my fashion icon would lean more towards either Mary Jane Watson or Gwen Stacey, both from the comics that is.

My fashion icon would be Johnny Depp or Misty from Pokemon! I love being cool and comfy, not so much fashionable! I like to just be me! Great interview and I totally <3 your creations. I have a teen geek who would adore these so much! Love your shop and site!

Although I always have a rather laid back approach to style, my fictional character icon is Rachel from Blade Runner. The makeup, the hair, the suits she is impeccable and so cool. If you haven’t seen her or this movie check it out! No spoilers but you would never believe a person of this caliber could have such fashion sense. Following ZombieJester on all three.

Your bow are the cutest things! Even if I don’t have awesome luck to win some I’m definitely snagging a few. Aw man, it is hard to just pick one fictional inspiration. My style icon would totally be Zoe Washburn from Firefly. She’s awesome and her clothes follow.

My fashion icon is probably Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet. Since I saw the film back when it came out, my personal dress code has pretty much been similar to his.

My fictional fashion icon would have to be Alisha from Misfits UK. Her style is sexy and she always wears the craziest accessories. I’ve never been able to pick out the right accessories to dress up my looks but with Alisha’s style she just wears whatever she wants or at least that is how it comes off as lol.

My fashion icon? Umm… I don’t have one. O_O I’m usually in jeans and a t-shirt or a t-shirt and shorts… And I love the Loki bow that she sells! I <3 them all, but DEFINITELY the Loki bow!
