Doctor Who Street Art

Art Movies & Television Sci-fi/ Cyberpunk

I’ve always had a love and appreciate for street art and artists whether its Banksy, Shepard Fairey or Space Invader. To me, street art is made specifically for the people. Not just art snobs or critics, but the every day person. Which, in my eyes, gives it more authenticity. Now of course I have a deep love for museums and all types of art whether they are high or low brow. But street art is one of my favorites because it can be made by anybody for everybody.

You all are probably aware that Doctor Who is my favorite thing in all of time and space. So it should come to no surprise how much I adore Doctor Who street art. One big difference between me and the show is if I saw “Bad Wolf” spray painted on the side of a building I’d be excited rather than terrified.

LOVE these! I just recently fell in love with the Ninth Doctor, never actually having been exposed to Doctor Who before I listened to the Geek Girl Crafts podcast. Also because of that podcast, I can’t seem to watch Doctor Who now without getting an irresistible urge to knit something. But I am catching so many nerd culture references that I’ve missed before! Must have more! Thanks for reinforcing my addiction! ;)

Those pictures are pretty awesome. Doctor Who art makes me smile. :)

Though the “Are you my mummy?” one does make me a little nervous….

Augh. I so wish there was graffiti like this around my neighborhood instead of the incomprehensible stuff that shows up. Too awesome.
