Doctor Who Street Art

Art Movies & Television Sci-fi/ Cyberpunk

I’ve always had a love and appreciate for street art and artists whether its Banksy, Shepard Fairey or Space Invader. To me, street art is made specifically for the people. Not just art snobs or critics, but the every day person. Which, in my eyes, gives it more authenticity. Now of course I have a deep love for museums and all types of art whether they are high or low brow. But street art is one of my favorites because it can be made by anybody for everybody. You all are probably aware that Doctor Who is my favorite thing…

Etsy Crush of the Week & Giveaway- Beth Yates’ Adorable British Fandom Bookmarks

Books Etsy Shop of the Week Fantasy Movies & Television Sci-fi/ Cyberpunk

I’m a fan of many things, two of them being extremely cute things and print books. So it should come as no surprise that I am a big fan of Beth Yates’ bookmarks. She used her graphic design talents to bestow charming bookmarks upon the world in the form of our favorite British fandoms. I’m one of those people who does not want to buy an e-reader (yet), so there are plenty of books that I’m reading that will become a temporary home for the Doctor, Ron and Sherlock bookmarks. Although, carrying around some books will surely give me scoliosis (I’m looking at you A Dance with Dragons), I do…

Even though New York Comic Con was weeks ago but it’s never too late to see some Doctor Who cosplay amirite?! This was actually my first time cosplaying ever! It was so much fun, I was a femme Eleven! I ended up stumbling across this massive Whovian cosplay photo op meetup. I asked to take a picture with an Amy and a girl told me that at 1pm we’d have all the Doctor Who cosplayers (they could find) meetup for a huge group picture. So of course until 1pm came along we still took dozens of pictures while we waited….

A TARDIS Lands in Brooklyn- The Way Station Bar Interview

Movies & Television Random Geekery Sci-fi/ Cyberpunk

“We didn’t quite realize how many Doctor Who fans there were.”, Doc Wasabassco the manager of The Way Station, told me when I sat down with him in the highly buzzed about steampunk and Doctor Who themed bar The Way Station  in Brooklyn, New York. If you’re a Whovian, chances are this isn’t the first time you’re hearing about “that bar with the TARDIS”. I squeed when I heard about The Way Station’s existence and squeed again when hearing that it was in Brooklyn and I could actually go whenever I wanted! The first time I visited The Way Station was during their popular Doctor…

Doctor Who- "In the shadow of your hearts" By Carrie-ko

While getting my daily sh*ts and giggles at Derptor Who- Questionable Doctor Who Fan Art Tumblr I found this absolutely gorgeous piece made by Carrie-ko on one of their Good Art Friday posts. The colors are captivating and Amy looks so delicate and peaceful floating in space it really illustrates science-fantasy. This also reminds me of the beginning of “The Beast Below” from Season 5. Can you spot the Doctor in the picture?
